Discover Your Type - The Enneagram Type Indicator Sampler

I saw Shiling's test results and felt it was quite interesting...

Type Seven
The Enthusiast. The busy, productive type. Sevens are extroverted, optimistic, versatile, and spontaneous. Playful, high-spirited, and practical, they can also misapply their many talents, becoming overextended, scattered, and undisciplined. They constantly seek new and exciting experiences, but can become distracted and exhausted by staying on the go. They typically have problems with impatience and impulsiveness. At their Best: they focus their talents on worthwhile goals, becoming appreciative, joyous, and satisfied.

Type Four
The Individualist. The introspective, romantic type. Fours are self-aware, sensitive, and reserved. They are emotionally honest, creative, and personal, but can also be moody and self-conscious. Withholding themselves from others due to feeling vulnerable and defective, they can also feel disdainful and exempt from ordinary ways of living. They typically have problems with melancholy, self-indulgence, and self-pity. At their Best: inspired and highly creative, they are able to renew themselves and transform their experiences.

Graduation Blues

I have always thought that finally graduating from university will be a fun and exciting start to another phase of my life. Unfortunately, this has not really been the case. I'm not too sure if I'm feeling this way because I'm too idealistic and expect too much or it's just the people I have met.

Although it's only been about 2 weeks since my last paper, my academic life seems eons ago. First week after my exams, I had to give tuition everyday and it's only this week that I can really rest and plan my life.

I went job agency hunting yesterday with Wanpei at International Plaza for a whole afternoon. It was really tiring filling up countless application forms all asking for the same information and smiling so much during interviews that my mouth ached. It was also a reality check for me as I got niao-ed by 2 recruitment agencies for writing too high an expected salary. One early in the morning (the first agency I went to) and another one late in the afternoon. I wrote $2,400 initially and then revised it downwards to $2,200 (negotiable) after the first niao. The second agency that niao-ed me said that I was unrealistic and $2,000 is a more competitive wage that I should expect.

Personally, I think the wage rate is a evaluation of how good I am (not just educational qualifications but work capabilities). I studied really hard in my 4 years of university (especially honours) and I think $2,400 is something reasonable for my efforts. Apparently, either the job market is really bad or I've overated myself. Or I should have gone Poly. Like Bee Kuan said, the wage increment of a degree is just a little over a diploma and the wage increment of an honours degree is just miniscule over a degree.

Oh well, it's too late for "what ifs" now. Hopefully, things will get better soon. Got woken up early this morning at 8am by a recruitment agency asking me to submit my resume for a position at JP Morgan. :)

The job hunt has begun.

What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to good manners and elegance.

In love, you feel the most alive when your partner is patient and never willing to give up on you.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was ruthless, cold-blooded, and sarcastic.

Your ideal relationship is traditional. Without saying anything, both of you communicate with your hearts.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage something you've always wanted... though you haven't really thought about it.

In this moment, you think of love as something you can get or discard anytime. You're feeling self centered.

Saw this test from my friend's blog. She wrote that it was quite accurate so I decided to try it for myself.

Surprisingly, it's really quite accurate.

Read All About It!

Once upon a time in Varian Land, there lived two detectives named Marshallian Demand and Hicksian Demand. The peaceful pages of their kingdom has been interrupted by a murder case - of a prostitute named Ms. Slutsky Equation in Hotelling Lemma Hotel. Currently, the two detectives are having a difficult time on the case because they have very little to work with. For a start, they suspect Mr. Roy's Identity who has some form of personality disorder (he constantly differentiates himself and pretends he's Mr. Marshallian). Then, there's Mr. Shephard's Lemma who is a shepard of llamas in Varian Zoo, who seems totally unrelated to the case but was caught by the hotel's CCTV walking out of Ms. Slutsky's room.

Besides the strange suspects, strange clues were also left behind. A badly scribbled blood-stained handwritten note had the following message:

Changes in price: Luxury good, Necessary good, normal good, inferior good

Changes in income: Giffen good, ordinary good

Remember the expenditure function!

Do not forget the indirect utility function!!

Be warned of the Langrangian!!!

Mr. Marshallian and Mr. Hicksian strongly believe that the murder is affliated to a mafia feud between Xing Xtreme and an undisclosed rival gang for territory. The detectives suspect that the blood-stained note is a warning letter written in code.

The police reassures all Varian citizens that the streets are still safe at night and security has been tightened at Hotelling Lemma Hotel. All citizens' utility remain unchanged and the government urges everyone to continue maximising utility subject to their budget constraint.
